FitCoach Privacy Policy
Effective: August 13, 2026 · Beta version
Publisher: RealSense Solutions · Contact: info@realsense.ca
FitCoach is an invite-only beta. This policy is written to be read, not skimmed. The single
most important thing in it:
During the beta, the developer can see everything you do in the app. Your
sessions are recorded — including screen recordings and your conversations with the
coach — and reviewed by the developer to improve the coach. If you are not
comfortable with that, do not join the beta.
What stays on your phone
-
Your Apple Health database. FitCoach reads your workouts, heart rate, distance, energy,
resting heart rate, heart-rate variability, body mass, and date of birth read-only,
on-device. FitCoach never uploads your Health database anywhere, and never writes to
Apple Health on your device.
-
Your profile, coach memory notes, chat history, and gym logs are stored on your phone.
There is no FitCoach account and no cloud sync. Delete the app and they are gone.
What leaves your phone, and where it goes
-
To the AI service (AWS Bedrock, us-east-1): every message you send the coach, plus a
summary of your training data derived from Apple Health — for example run dates, distances,
paces, heart-rate averages, readiness signals, body-mass trend, and your gym sessions. This
is what the coach reasons over to reply to you. Per AWS's published terms, Bedrock does not
use customer content to train models. FitCoach uses an open-weights model
(gpt-oss-120b), not a third-party consumer AI account.
-
To our monitoring service (Datadog): usage telemetry (screens, taps, errors, timings),
crash data, and unmasked screen recordings of your sessions. Because recordings are
unmasked, they include whatever is on screen — your conversations with the coach and your
displayed training and body metrics. You are identified in this data only by a tester code
(like "T07"), never by name or email.
-
To Apple (TestFlight): standard beta analytics and crash reports under Apple's own
terms, shown to you when you install via TestFlight.
That is the complete list. There is nothing else.
Why we collect it
One purpose: improving FitCoach during the beta — finding bugs, fixing confusing screens, and
catching places where the coach gives a wrong, unclear, or unsupported answer. Recordings and
transcripts are reviewed by the developer for that purpose only.
What we will never do
- No selling or sharing your data with anyone.
-
No advertising, ad networks, or data brokers — and never any use of Apple Health data for
advertising or marketing.
- No training AI models on your data.
- No fabricating data: if a metric is missing, the coach says so rather than inventing it.
Retention
Telemetry and screen recordings are kept at most 90 days, then deleted automatically. Data on
your phone is yours and persists until you delete it or the app.
Your rights and choices
- Leave at any time: delete the app. Nothing more is collected from that moment.
-
See, correct, or delete your data: email info@realsense.ca and we will show you what we
hold about your tester code, correct it, or delete it, within 30 days.
-
Inside the app, you can view and delete the coach's memory notes about you at any time
(Coach Memory screen).
FitCoach is operated from Canada and handles personal information in line with PIPEDA
(Canada's federal privacy law). If you have a concern we don't resolve, you may contact the
Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Health disclaimer and age
FitCoach is a training companion for adults (18+), not a medical device and not medical
advice. The coach is instructed to refer you to a professional for pain or health concerns.
Changes
If this policy changes during the beta, testers are notified in TestFlight release notes and
the effective date above changes. Material changes to what is collected require your renewed
consent.
